Building a Scene in Maya

Here is my maya scene.  It has been a while since I have used this program so it was nice to refresh my memory!

First Draft!

Here is my first attempt at making a short machinima episode!  This ones called "Road Buddies", a rough for if not the final, an episode int he future entitled, "carpool".  This draft is extremely raw, editing is choppy, voice overs are lacking and quality isn't the best either. This is basically, me just throwing out a sense of where I am trying to get at with a story and project like this while experimenting with Halo's theater mode and its endless possibilities.

Machinima-Testing

So I have begun the pain staking process of filming, editing and filming.  Here is a 2 minute take from the Halo Reach video game.  It is merely a test for the purposes of filming.  What I have done here is film the video saved into the game's "theater mode".

Art 107-project HALO Sitcom!

So for my project I will be playing with "machinima".  Machinima is like puppeteeing with characters from a video game, in this case "Halo Reach".  Now there have been machinimas done using the various games within the Halo franchise but I have yet to see one done like a sitcom.  The overall goal is to mash-up the Halo universe and it's mythos with the basic concept within a series such as "Seinfield", a comical show about nothing.  Besides the scripted puns, cheesy bass riffs, and fake audience sound effects what will separate this from other machinima works will be the set designs.  I found some very cool creations in the "Forge" mode done by other players.  I would like to have a short mini-series with this.  So what do you think?  Can I get some feedback, comments, suggestions, etc.

Art 107 first post

Well for my first post, I'd like to discuss my main concern for this course.  I have no idea where to start in terms of what kind of project I want to create.  Having very little knowledge on CNC, tools, and any of these areas relevant to the class, I feel a bit overwhelmed.  I am an animation major so I would like to utilize my knowledge in this area for this course but would also like to try out some CNC projects.  Where should I start or what should I start with, any suggestions?   I would like to try and learn more about "hacking" such as some of the work that has been done with the Xbox 360 "kinect" device.  This is a side note and I don't think it has been done before, but what are the possibilities of hacking this device in use for a "fighting game"?
